Dear visitors,

If you are considering a visit to Helfštýn Castle, please contact us in advance by phone at +420 770 385 625 or by email at helfstyn@prerovmuzeum.cz – we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

For visitors using wheelchairs or with reduced mobility
Helfštýn Castle is a protected historical monument, built over centuries as a difficult-to-access, impregnable fortress. Due to this, options for barrier-free access are very limited.

The castle is located on a hill above the village of Týn nad Bečvou. The terrain leading to and within the castle is uneven, sloped, and movement is generally possible only on unpaved surfaces.

Visiting the interiors (galleries, permanent exhibitions) is not possible for wheelchair users without assistance from another person due to the nature of the site. A stair climber allows access only to the accessible areas of the castle palace.

On the second courtyard of Helfštýn, there is a restaurant and restroom facilities. These areas have been adapted for barrier-free access.

For visitors with visual impairments
Upon prior arrangement, a guide will be available to assist you with orientation within the castle grounds. At the entrance, we provide an orientation map in Braille. Guide dogs are permitted within the castle. An accompanying person (with a ZTP/P card) is eligible for discounted admission.

For visitors with hearing impairments
During your visit, you can use printed guide texts available in Czech, English, German, Italian, French, Russian, Polish, Ukrainian, and Spanish. Especially for groups, we recommend bringing an interpreter proficient in sign language to convey the information provided by our guides. The interpreter is entitled to free admission (as a special group escort).
