Building Technologies Used in the Palace Preservation

Static reinforcements and structural interventions in the Renaissance building formed a significant part of the project “Preservation and Accessibility of the Palace at Helfštýn”. State-of-the-art technologies were mostly used to preserve the foundations, stabilise the exterior walls, fix the remnants of the vaults, and level the wall coping. The construction engineering survey showed most masonry structures were in dilapidated condition, and therefore often radical interventions in the authentic mass of the palace were selected. As almost all modern stabilising elements have been bricked in or concealed under plaster during the project implemented in 2017–2020, let us mention the technologies used by selected documentation of the construction project.
